# Code of Conduct

> Detailed code of conduct of Internville.

*Effective Date: September 01, 2026 • Last Updated: September 16, 2026*

Internville is built to make internships and jobs easier to discover and recruitment easier to manage.

A good experience depends on Candidates, Employers, Companies, and other users treating one another honestly, professionally, and respectfully.

This Code of Conduct (“**Code**”) sets out the standards of behavior expected when using Internville.

It applies to everyone using the Platform, whether as a Candidate, Employer, Company Administrator, or other User.

This Code works together with the Internville [**Terms & Conditions**](https://help.internville.com/legal/terms-and-conditions), [**Privacy Policy**](https://help.internville.com/legal/privacy-policy), **Advertising & Sponsorship Policy**, **Refund & Cancellation Policy**, and applicable **Rules & Guidelines**.

## 1. Our Expectations

When using Internville, you are expected to:

* Be honest;
* Be respectful;
* Provide accurate information;
* Act professionally;
* Respect other people's privacy;
* Use Candidate and Company information responsibly;
* Communicate appropriately;
* Follow applicable laws and regulations; and
* Use Internville for legitimate employment and recruitment purposes.

The goal of this Code is not to make every interaction formal or rigid. It is intended to establish reasonable standards that help keep Internville useful, trustworthy, and safe.

## 2. Be Honest and Accurate

Users should provide truthful and accurate information when using Internville.

This applies to:

* User Accounts;
* Candidate Profiles;
* Employer information;
* Company Profiles;
* Company verification;
* Job and Internship Listings;
* resumes;
* applications;
* qualifications;
* education;
* work experience;
* compensation information; and
* other recruitment-related information.

### Candidates

Candidates should accurately represent their:

* identity;
* education;
* qualifications;
* work experience;
* internship experience;
* skills;
* certifications;
* projects;
* achievements; and
* other relevant professional information.

Do not intentionally submit a resume or application containing materially false information.

### Employers and Companies

Employers and Companies should accurately represent:

* the organization;
* their relationship with the organization;
* their authority to recruit;
* the role being advertised;
* responsibilities;
* qualifications;
* location;
* work arrangement;
* compensation;
* duration; and
* other material conditions.

Do not create a Listing that intentionally misrepresents the opportunity or the organization offering it.

## 3. Use Real and Legitimate Opportunities

Internville is intended for genuine employment and internship opportunities.

Employers and Companies must not use Internville to advertise:

* nonexistent positions;
* fake internships;
* deceptive opportunities;
* opportunities designed primarily to collect personal information;
* fraudulent recruitment schemes;
* misleading work arrangements; or
* opportunities that intentionally misrepresent material terms.

All Jobs and Internships listed on Internville must be paid opportunities.

*Unpaid internships or unpaid employment opportunities should not be submitted to the Platform.*

## 4. Compensation Should Be Represented Honestly

Employers and Companies should provide accurate compensation information when creating a Listing.

Where compensation amounts or ranges are provided, they should reasonably reflect the compensation that a selected Candidate can expect to receive.

Do not:

* intentionally advertise an amount that Candidates are not reasonably expected to receive;
* hide material compensation conditions;
* materially change compensation after attracting Candidates without appropriate disclosure; or
* use misleading compensation information to increase applications.

Employers and Companies remain responsible for ensuring that compensation arrangements comply with applicable laws.

## 5. Respect Candidates

Employers and Company Administrators should treat Candidates professionally and respectfully throughout the recruitment process.

This includes:

* communicating clearly;
* providing relevant information about the opportunity;
* avoiding unnecessary delays where reasonably possible;
* respecting Candidate privacy;
* using Candidate information only for legitimate purposes;
* avoiding inappropriate requests for personal information;
* providing professional interview experiences; and
* communicating recruitment decisions appropriately where practicable.

*Candidates should not be subjected to harassment, threats, abuse, or discriminatory treatment through Internville.*

## 6. Respect Employers and Companies

Candidates should also interact professionally with Employers and Companies.

Candidates should:

* communicate respectfully;
* provide accurate information;
* attend interviews or other agreed recruitment activities where reasonably possible;
* avoid intentionally wasting an Employer's time;
* respect confidential information;
* avoid harassment or abusive communication; and
* use applications for genuine employment or internship purposes.

*Candidates should not intentionally submit large numbers of irrelevant or fraudulent applications in a way that disrupts an Employer's recruitment process.*

## 7. Professional Communication

Internville may provide tools for Candidates, Employers, and Company Administrators to communicate.

These tools should be used primarily for legitimate recruitment and employment-related communication.

Do not use Internville communication features to:

* harass;
* threaten;
* intimidate;
* insult;
* bully;
* repeatedly contact someone who has made it clear they do not wish to continue communication;
* send spam;
* send fraudulent offers;
* distribute malicious content;
* solicit inappropriate payments;
* collect personal information for unauthorized purposes; or
* engage in other abusive or unlawful conduct.

*Professional disagreement is not prohibited. Users should nevertheless communicate in a reasonable and respectful manner.*

## 8. No Harassment, Threats, or Abuse

Internville does not permit harassment, threats, intimidation, or abusive behavior.

Examples include:

* threatening another User;
* repeated unwanted contact;
* personal attacks;
* bullying;
* intimidation;
* abusive messages;
* stalking or persistent unwanted attention;
* deliberately humiliating another User; or
* using recruitment interactions as a means of harassment.

A single disagreement or negative recruitment outcome does not by itself constitute harassment.

The context, frequency, seriousness, and nature of the conduct may be considered when determining whether action is appropriate.

## 9. No Discriminatory or Hateful Conduct

Users must not use Internville to engage in unlawful discrimination or hateful conduct.

This includes using Listings, applications, communications, or other Platform features to express or enforce unlawful discriminatory requirements or to target individuals with abusive conduct based on protected characteristics where prohibited by applicable law.

Employers and Companies are responsible for ensuring that their recruitment practices comply with applicable employment and anti-discrimination laws.

Internville may restrict or remove Listings or activity that violates applicable law or this Code.

## 10. Respect Privacy and Personal Information

Users may encounter personal information belonging to other people through Internville.

This may include:

* Candidate Profiles;
* resumes;
* application information;
* contact information;
* employment information;
* education information;
* Company Administrator information; and
* recruitment communications.

You should only access and use information that you are authorized to access.

### Employers and Company Administrators

Candidate information should be used only for legitimate recruitment or related purposes.

Do not:

* sell Candidate information;
* distribute Candidate resumes unnecessarily;
* publish Candidate information publicly without appropriate authorization;
* use Candidate information for unrelated marketing;
* contact Candidates for unrelated purposes;
* attempt to obtain information beyond what is reasonably necessary; or
* retain or use Candidate information in ways that violate applicable law.

*Receiving access to a Candidate's resume through Internville does not mean that the information can be used for any purpose.*

## 11. Respect Confidential Information

Users may receive confidential information through recruitment activities.

For example, Candidates may receive information about a Company's business, role, product, or recruitment process, while Employers may receive information contained in a Candidate's resume or application.

Users should not disclose or misuse confidential information obtained through Internville.

If you receive information that you reasonably understand to be confidential, treat it appropriately and use it only for the relevant purpose.

## 12. Company Representation and Administration

Company Profiles represent real organizations on Internville.

Users who create, claim, or administer a Company Profile should have appropriate authority to do so.

Do not:

* falsely claim a Company;
* falsely represent an affiliation with a Company;
* provide misleading company-verification information;
* obtain administrative access through deception;
* give unauthorized individuals access to a Company Profile; or
* continue representing a Company after your authority has ended.

Company Administrators should promptly review administrative access when people join or leave the organization.

If an administrator is no longer authorized to manage a Company Profile, the appropriate Company owner or administrator should remove their access where possible.

Internville may restrict or remove access where we reasonably believe that authorization is no longer valid.

## 13. Company Listings Belong to Companies

Listings on Internville are created through and associated with Company Profiles.

An Employer creating a Listing is acting through the relevant Company Profile rather than publishing a personal Listing.

Users should therefore only create or manage Listings for Companies they are authorized to represent.

An Employer should not:

* create a Listing for a Company they are not authorized to represent;
* move or represent another Company's recruitment opportunity as their own;
* misrepresent the organization associated with a Listing; or
* continue managing a Company's Listings after their authorization has ended.

## 14. Respect the Recruitment Process

Internville is designed to facilitate genuine recruitment.

Users should not deliberately manipulate the recruitment process.

### Employers and Companies should not:

* create fake Listings to collect resumes;
* use Listings primarily for unrelated purposes;
* deliberately misrepresent hiring intentions;
* repeatedly cancel or materially change opportunities without reasonable explanation;
* use applications to build unrelated marketing databases; or
* manipulate Platform functionality to gain an unfair advantage.

### Candidates should not:

* create fake applications;
* submit applications using another person's identity;
* intentionally misrepresent qualifications;
* submit automated or mass applications in violation of Platform restrictions;
* manipulate application systems; or
* use another person's account.

## 15. No Scams or Financial Deception

Internville should not be used to deceive users into making inappropriate payments or financial commitments.

Employers and Companies must not use recruitment activities to:

* request fraudulent application fees;
* demand inappropriate payments from Candidates;
* advertise fake employment opportunities;
* use false identities;
* operate investment or financial scams under the appearance of recruitment;
* misrepresent compensation; or
* use a recruitment process to obtain money through deception.

Candidates should also be cautious about requests for money, financial credentials, or other sensitive information.

*If a recruitment interaction appears suspicious, [report](mailto:legal@internville.com) it to Internville.*

## 16. Do Not Circumvent Platform Safeguards

Users must not attempt to bypass Internville's technical, security, verification, or access controls.

This includes attempting to:

* bypass Company verification;
* obtain unauthorized Company Administrator access;
* access restricted Candidate information;
* circumvent profile visibility controls;
* access another User's account;
* bypass Listing restrictions;
* interfere with application controls;
* circumvent suspension or account restrictions; or
* exploit technical vulnerabilities.

*If you discover a security issue, please [report](mailto:legal@internville.com) it responsibly rather than attempting to exploit it.*

## 17. No Spam or Unwanted Commercial Activity

Internville should not be used as a source of spam or unrelated commercial outreach.

Users must not use Platform features to:

* send bulk unsolicited messages;
* repeatedly contact Candidates or Employers without a legitimate reason;
* promote unrelated products or services through recruitment communications;
* distribute mass marketing messages;
* collect contact information for unsolicited marketing; or
* otherwise abuse Platform communication tools.

*Promotional activity should use the appropriate advertising or sponsorship features where available.*

## 18. No Unauthorized Scraping or Data Collection

Users must not systematically collect, scrape, crawl, harvest, copy, or otherwise extract information from Internville without authorization.

This includes attempting to collect:

* Candidate Profiles;
* Candidate resumes;
* Employer information;
* Company information;
* Listings;
* application-related information; or
* other Platform data

through automated or unauthorized methods.

*This restriction does not prevent legitimate use of information made available through normal Platform functionality.*

## 19. Use Appropriate Account Access

Users should only access information and functionality available to them through their authorized account and permissions.

You must not:

* access another User's account;
* share accounts to bypass permissions;
* use another person's credentials;
* access Company information without authorization;
* attempt to access restricted Candidate information; or
* otherwise circumvent access controls.

Company Administrators are responsible for managing access appropriately within their Company Profile.

## 20. Content and Materials

Information submitted to Internville should be appropriate for the purpose for which it is being provided.

Users must not upload or submit content that:

* is unlawful;
* intentionally deceives others;
* contains malicious code;
* infringes another person's intellectual property rights;
* violates privacy rights;
* contains unnecessary sensitive personal information;
* promotes fraud or scams;
* is abusive or threatening; or
* otherwise violates these Terms or applicable policies.

Candidates should avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in resumes or profiles.

Employers should avoid requesting unnecessary sensitive personal information from Candidates.

## 21. Account and Profile Integrity

Each User should maintain their account and profile information responsibly.

Users should:

* keep account information accurate;
* protect their login credentials;
* update outdated information;
* remove unauthorized access where applicable; and
* report suspected unauthorized account access.

Users should not create multiple accounts for the purpose of circumventing restrictions, manipulating Platform activity, or engaging in deceptive behavior.

## 22. Responsible Use of Candidate Information

Employers and Company Administrators may receive Candidate information through legitimate recruitment activities.

That access comes with responsibility.

Candidate information should:

* be accessed only by authorized individuals;
* be used for legitimate recruitment purposes;
* be handled securely;
* not be unnecessarily shared;
* not be publicly published without an appropriate basis;
* not be sold or commercially exploited; and
* be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Employers should establish appropriate internal controls over Candidate information received through Internville.

## 23. Responsible Use of Employer and Company Information

Candidates and other Users may encounter information about Employers and Companies through Internville.

Users should not:

* misrepresent a Company;
* falsely claim affiliation with a Company;
* misuse Company contact information;
* disclose confidential business information;
* impersonate Company representatives; or
* use Company information for fraudulent purposes.

## 24. Reporting Problems

If you encounter behavior, content, or a Listing that you believe violates this Code, the Terms, or applicable law, you are encouraged to report it to Internville.

When reporting an issue, provide enough information for us to understand the concern, such as:

* the relevant account or Company;
* Listing information;
* relevant communication;
* the nature of the concern; and
* supporting information where available.

Reports should be made honestly and in good faith.

*Knowingly submitting false or malicious reports may itself violate this Code.*

## 25. How Internville May Respond

Internville may review reports and take reasonable action where appropriate.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

* contact the relevant User;
* request additional information;
* remove or restrict content;
* remove or restrict a Listing;
* restrict Platform functionality;
* remove Company Administrator access;
* suspend an account;
* close a Company Profile;
* terminate an account; or
* take other reasonable measures.

Not every report will necessarily result in action.

We may consider factors such as:

* the nature of the conduct;
* available evidence;
* seriousness;
* frequency;
* potential harm;
* applicable law;
* relevant Platform policies; and
* the context in which the conduct occurred.

*Where appropriate, Internville may provide an affected User with information about actions taken, subject to privacy, security, legal, and operational considerations.*

## 26. Immediate Action for Serious Issues

Internville may take immediate action where conduct presents a significant risk to:

* user safety;
* privacy;
* account security;
* Platform security;
* financial safety;
* legal compliance; or
* the integrity of the Platform.

In serious situations, we may suspend access or remove content before completing a full review.

*Where appropriate and permitted by law, we may also cooperate with relevant authorities regarding suspected unlawful activity.*

## 27. No Retaliation for Good-Faith Reports

Users should be able to report genuine concerns without being subjected to retaliation through Internville.

Users must not use the Platform to threaten, harass, intimidate, or penalize another User for making a legitimate good-faith report.

This does not prevent Internville from addressing reports that are knowingly false, abusive, or submitted for improper purposes.

## 28. Professionalism Does Not Mean Agreement

Internville does not require Candidates and Employers to agree with one another.

Users may:

* ask questions;
* negotiate appropriate employment terms;
* decline an opportunity;
* withdraw an application;
* provide professional feedback; or
* disagree with another User.

*The expectation is that these interactions remain respectful, truthful, and lawful.*
